Pavlenko set out immediate steps to be taken in the agricultural sector

2014-12-24 12:32:37

The top-priority tasks in the agricultural sector include systematization of work in the land market, opening the EU market to Ukrainian produce, and deregulation. This was set out by Ukraine’s Ag Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko. According to him, this needs to be done promptly. Moreover, this is demanded by both the public and international investors. “Ukraine is not prepared to launch a land market. A preparatory process needs to be passed. In addition, a huge number of issues are to be settled prior to the land market opening. For instance, they include the market of lease relations,” Oleksiy Pavlenko says. Another important step he mentioned is opening the European market to Ukrainian produce. “For a wide range of products we must improve legislation, simplify veterinary formalities, and synchronize the standards with the European Union,” the minister pointed out. Oleksiy Pavlenko added that another top-priority step is deregulation. “First of all, we have to reduce the number of procrastinations that exist in the government bodies and prevent businesses from normal adequate work,” he said.
