Agricultural commodities are the only group of goods whose exports are on the rise in Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reports. In particular, they increased 12.6% in Q2 2014 owing to a 1.4 times gain in grain supplies (5 MMT compared to 3.5 MMT in Q2 2013). Exports of all the other key goods groups declined. At the same time, NBU officials note, the geographical diversification of Ukrainian export deliveries continued: they gradually switch to European markets. So, exports to the European Union were up 15.2% year-over-year (its share expanded by 5.7 percentage points to 30.5%). At the same time, exports to Russia fell by 24.5%, its share shrank by 4.8 percentage points to 20.3%. In addition, 26% of Ukrainian exports go to Asian markets, while the export share of Africa rose to 8.3%.
