Ukrainian Agrarian Index has hit the new low – the level of 2010

2014-08-26 15:50:12

Ukrainian Agrarian Index was launched by UkrAgroConsult back in 2010, when major Ukrainian agrarian holdings started going public on foreign stock exchanges. Initially, 6 companies were included in the Index: Sintal, Kernel, Mriya, Agroton, Astarta, and MCB Agricole. On the first day of calculation, February 19, 2010, capitalization of the index was measured at EUR 1.88 billion. Ukrainian Agrarian changed and evolved as more and more Ukrainian agrarian companies were going through with Initial Public Offerings or IPOs.

UAIndex hit its highest value on February 2nd, 2011 with its capitalization measured at EUR 6.45 billion. At the date, there were already 11 companies included in the index. After that, UAIndex was declining, partially due to several companies going through de-listing procedures, but mainly because of presumably declining value of Ukrainian Agrarian Companies. Out of 6 companies, initially included in the index, 2 were de-listed from public exchanges (Sintal and MCB Agricole) due to acquisition of these companies by other companies. Other 4 companies: Kernel, Mriya, Agroton and Astarta have lost 45%, 52%, 93% and 20% of their total capitalization respectively.
