Belarus raises oil export duties 1 August

On 1 August 2014 Belarus will raise export duties on oil and oil products exported outside the customs territory of the Customs Union. The decision is stipulated in Resolution No. 734 of the Council of Ministers as of 28 July 2014, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.

The export duty on crude oil went up from $385.2 to $388.4 per tonne. The duty on straight-run gasoline and commercial gasoline rose from $346.6 to $349.5 per tonne. The export duty on light and medium distillates increased from $254.2 to $256.3 to per tonne. The same duty will be applied to benzene, toluene, xylene, fuel oil, lubricants, waste oils, petrolatum and paraffin, petroleum coke (except for calcinated petroleum coke) and oil bitumen.

The export duty on diesel fuel was raised from $250.3 to $252.4 per tonne, that on liquefied gases from $89.6 to $147.4 per tonne.

The new resolution has amended Resolution No.1932 of the Council of Ministers as of 31 December 2010, which set export duties on crude oil and several oil product categories.

The above-mentioned duties are set at levels equal to the duties imposed in Russia.
