Chinese experts project 4-5% GDP growth in Belarus in next five-year period

The annual growth of gross domestic product in Belarus is expected at 4-5% in the next five-year period. This projection of the Chinese experts was voiced by Alexander Zaborovsky, First Deputy Head of the Council of Ministers Office, Head of the Belarus Prime Minister Secretariat, on 23 May, BelTA has learned.
A group of economy experts from China is in Belarus on 18-24 May. According to Alexander Zaborovsky, the Chinese delegation held a number of constructive consultations with Belarusian counterparts. “The Chinese experts were provided with all the necessary information, including fast response measures and monetary regulations, measures to improve economic institutions. The Chinese experts provided their comments on each of these points,” he noted.
The Chinese partners came to the conclusion that Belarus has potential and opportunities for sustainable economic growth. “We have the necessary industrial, intellectual and innovative potential to harness a new wave of economic growth, to grow faster than several years ago. By improving the institutions of economic policy we will be able to add 4-5% to our GDP every year in the next five-year period,” Alexander Zaborovsky said.
