Khlib Investbud to increase grain exports to 5 million tons

The company Khlib Investbud is planning to increase grain exports by 300% up to 5 million tons in the 2011/12 marketing year, despite the competition with Russia after the export embargo lifting, Khlib Investbud General Director Robert Brovdi told Reuters.
"We are planning to export about 5 million tons, given the increase in grain yield and the number of customers," he said.
According to him, this season Ukraine will export mainly coarse grains, which is caused by unfavorable weather conditions in the country, which affected the quality of food grains. Feed wheat harvest may be 60-65% of the total wheat crop in 2011, the expert predicts.
Brovdi also believes that in the current season Ukraine will face serious competition from Russia's grain market. This rivalry has led to the decrease in the export of grain from Ukraine in July this year by 81% to 334,000 tons against 1.78 million tons in June. According to him, in the future Russia will increase export sales.
