Astarta has set a goal to become more active on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) market

Astarta is planning to invest 50-60M EUR in the development of the company, including acquisition of other companies. The source of the information is the head of the Investor relations department of the company Andrey Kovalski. He also stated that the company is planning to increase its land bank by 250K hectares. More than that by the end of 2012 the company is aiming to have 300K ha of land and 400K by 2015.
Production of sugar will also be increased to 700K tons by 2015 compared to 200K tons in 2010 and planned 350K tons in 2011. The company possesses 8 sugar plants with processing capacity of 32K tons of beets per day however with investments in the sugar industry this number will be increased by 30% to 45K per day till 2015. Thus the company is aiming at increase of its market share in the sugar industry by 25-30% till 2015 (current market share is set at 13%).
