EBRD to credit agricultural holding Astarta with $80 million

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development may provide a loan to agro-holding Astarta-Kyiv LLC in the amount of $80 million, the bank says.
"The loan will be used to consolidate the existing loans of the Bank for the group and provide additional long-term funding for further development of agriculture and sugar infrastructure, as well as for expanding land bank and construction of a dairy farm," the statement reads.
Earlier the holding already received loans from the EBRD for 20 million USD and 10 million EUR.
Astarta-Kyiv is a vertically integrated agro-industrial holding. Its main activities are the production of high-quality sugar and related products (molasses and dry granulated pulp), cereals and oilseeds, as well as meat and milk.
