Romania's Kosarom To Invest 15 Mln Euro in Pig Farm

Romanian meat processing company Kosarom will invest 15 million euro ($22 million) in pig farm Suinprod in northeastern Romania, local media reported on Thursday.
Suinprod, which was closed in the last 20 years, will reopen in the beginning of next year, daily Ziarul Financiar said.
“Some 30% of the money will come from the company’s own sources, as the remaining will be covered by loans,” the daily quoted Kosarom owner Neculai Apostol as saying.
Apostol also said that Kosarom expects its turnover this year to remain unchanged at 45 million euro.
Kosarom, privatised in 1992, produces 6,500 tonnes of meat per year and 25 to 30 tonnes of salami products daily.
