KSC acquires sugar factory in Moldavia

Krajowa Spolka Cukrowa (KSC), the largest sugar producer in Poland, has acquired Cupcini Cristal, a sugar factory, in Moldavia, PMR web-site says. The details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Cupcini Cristal halted production in 2009 because of the bankruptcy of its owner, Marr Sugar. KSC stated that it intended to resume production in 2011. However, the company will need to invest around $1m (€0.7m).
This is the first KSC factory outside Poland. In Moldavia, the producer will be the third most prominent player in terms of volume on the sugar market.
