Landkom completes spring planting

Landkom, the Ukrainian grains and oilseeds grower, has completed its spring planting campaign, with the area planted sharply higher than in the previous year.
Landkom planted 23,100 hectares of land in the spring campaign which, together with the 28,856 hectares planted in autumn means that the total planted is up by 30% on the previous year.
The approximately 52,000 hectares planted so far includes about 10,400 of maize, 5,100 of spring wheat, 2,500 of rapeseed, 2,000 of sunflower, 1,800 of soybean, 6,000 of spring barley and smaller amounts of other crops.
“Over the last 18 months we have repositioned the business, improved cost efficiency and rebalanced the mix of crops to make the business model more sustainable,” said chief executive Vitaliy Skotsyk.
"This successful spring planting campaign is a clear demonstration that we were well prepared in terms of both machinery and soil cultivation.”
