2011-03-30 17:22:58

Agricultural holding Mriya headquartered in Ternopil region (western Ukraine) has received a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of $25 million.

These funds, as UKRINFORM was told at the press center of the agricultural holding, will be invested in the costs on production and storage of finished goods in specialized stores.

Thanks to EBRD's help, Mriya will be able to increase production volumes and expand areas for processing and improvement of crop yields. This project will encourage the farmer, a segment still getting limited funding in Ukraine.

Mriya is the agro-industrial holding, whose products are available in more than 20 countries, including major food companies in Europe. Its lands are concentrated in western Ukraine. Most products are exported to Europe, Asia and Africa.

As reported, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is the biggest financial investor in Ukraine. As of January 1, 2011, the Bank committed itself to provide more than 6 billion euros under 264 projects.
