Ag Ministry of Ukraine asking the EU to increase agricultural supply quotas
Olexiy Pavlenko, Ukraine’s Agrarian Policy and Food Minister has requested Phil Hogan, the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development to increase the quotas for Ukrainian agricultural produce exports to Europe or to abolish these quotas at all, the website of Ukraine’s government reported on Saturday. “The Ukrainian party has developed a number of urgent bills to ensure the food quality and harmonize Ukraine’s legislation with the EU requirements. As before, a priority for us is the adoption of laws on sanitary and phytosanitary control as soon as possible,” the website quoted Pavlenko as saying. According to him, this will allow using the tariff quotas and free trade regime between Ukraine and the European Union to a full extent.
