Quotas for Ukrainian supplies to the EU will remain unchanged until 2016, Tombinski
The duty-free import quotas for Ukrainian agricultural supplies to the European Union will remain unchanged until December 31, 2015, said Head of the EC Representative Office in Ukraine Jan Tombinski at a meeting of Ukrainian and Lithuanian company representatives in Kyiv on Thursday. “This is prolongation of the regime that came into force on April 23, 2014 and will be extended until December 31, 2015. This concerns customs tariffs,” he said. When asked by journalists if the quotas would be reduced to zero from November 1, 2014, Tombinski assured that they would not – these are annual quotas valid from April 23 till the end of the current year. This question is to be asked to the new composition of the European Parliament.” The Head of the EC Representative Office in Ukraine added that exports of Ukrainian goods to the EU are up 23% year-on-year since April 2014.
