Foreign trade deficit rises to USD 4 billion in nine months

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in the first nine months of 2011 grew by 4.4 times compared to the same period in 2010, to USD 4.037 billion, the State Statistics Service has reported.

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade with CIS countries grew by 2.6 times, to USD 4.347 billion. There was a trade surplus of USD 310.2 million with other countries (down by 60%), and there was a trade deficit with EU countries, which rose by 9.3%, to USD 4.428 billion.

As reported, the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods in the first nine months of 2011 grew by 75%, to USD 9.5 billion, while the surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade in services in the first nine months of 2011 rose by 21.6%, to USD 5.5 billion.
