Ukrainian winemakers boost production, exports

Ukrainian winemakers have increased for the first 9 months of the year wine exports by 23.7% and sold to foreign consumers 970,000 decaliters, according to the State Tax Service, citing data from the Department of Control over the Production and Circulation of Alcohol, Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco.

"Popular abroad are champagne and sparkling wines of the Ukrainian origin - more than 240,000 decaliters are sold and also more than 110,000 decaliters of different varieties of cognac - 101.9% more than last year," the report says.

At the same time, the main consumers of domestic winemakers are Ukrainians themselves. This year, domestic sales of cognac made 2.6 million decaliters, wine - more than 11.8 million decaliters, champagne and sparkling wines - 2.5 million decaliters.

Accordingly, production of these products increased. Cognac was produced at more than 3 million decaliters, wine - more than 13.1 million decaliters, champagne and sparkling wines - more than 3 million decaliters.
