Ukraine. Government expects $2 billion positive balance of foreign trade in 2015

The Ukrainian government hopes for a positive balance of foreign trade in goods and services at 1.5 - 2 billion US dollars in 2015, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Volodymyr Bandurov said during the Cabinet of Ministers' hotline.
As reported, in September, the country's trade deficit grew to $8.1 billion.
"To date, exports growth is 31.5%, but, unfortunately, imports increase in much higher rates - 39.9%. We are making efforts to rectify this situation. First of all we are talking about the Cabinet resolution dated 26 October this year approving a plan of measures to overcome the negative balance of foreign trade. These measures include government support for exports, improving the quality of domestic products, the protection of domestic producers in domestic and international markets. We are planning to achieve a positive trade balance of $1.5 - $2 billion in 2015," Bandurov said, answering a question of UKRINFORM.
